简　　介

　　本片按照越南战争中的实在战役改编。1965年11月，越南战争升级至美军间接介入战争阶段。驻越美甲士数不竭上升。摩尔中校（梅尔吉布森 Mel Gibson 饰）受命把一群新兵练习为实在的战士，军队中同时涌入很多随军家属，甲士们饰演着丈夫与战士的两重脚色，温馨的氛围中搀杂着丝丝不安。为了减缓单调的军旅生活，军队举行了大型晚会。出征的时辰到了，摩尔在仪式上庄重许诺“带回每一位流兵”。
　　摩尔与他的军队被空降在邻近柬埔寨的河谷地带，这里是北越军的重兵地点，人数弱势的美军堕入了重重包围，伤亡惨重，最初在火炮、直升机的帮助下战局起头对峙。第二天，战役推动到山丘但仍然没法冲破包围，摩尔追求空军帮助，由于双方间隔过近，美军的汽油弹炸伤了部分空中军队。摄影记者乔（Barry Pepper 饰）记录下了战役中一幕幕残暴的画面。第三天，美军正预备停止决议性的近身战役，这时空军支援到位了，越军被全灭。
