　　天赋异禀的小子预言今朝的兔子领地上将有一场来自人类的扑灭性灾难，因而他和一只名为榛子的勇敢机智的兔子前往晋见兔子首领，劝其率领兔群分开领地，但遭到了拒绝。因而在灾难到临之前，小多子和榛子以及其他几只公兔子仓促分开了领地，踏上了艰辛的冒险之旅。在履历了和人类以及其他天敌几番生死攸关的周旋后，他们来到沃特希普荒原，起头建立新的领地……
　　由于缺少母兔子，兔群仍然面临着灭绝的危险。他们只得再度冒险，赶往一座农场劝说笼养兔子加入他们的领地，同时派出交际使团前往一个叫艾弗拉法的领地求婚。但求婚计划失利，与那边独裁蛮横的首领停止生死较劲，最初艰难却成功地率领多量母兔子回到了沃特希普荒原。但是，一切远远没有竣事，一场加倍危险的战役正在期待着他们……
