◎简　　介

　　栗林忠道中将（渡边谦 饰）是日军在硫磺岛的批示官，负责这道日军最初的防线。栗林中将大力鼎新日军内部的成规和不敷，并设想出一整套对于美军、以迟延为主的作战计划。虽然他和日军的二万名官兵都高低齐心，但面临占尽空中上风的四万名美军兵士，栗林晓得这将是一场没有归路的战争。
