克莱有严重的心脏病，心脏移植才能活命，无法他的血型鲜有，待终究找到了合适的心脏时，他拒绝让天下级医生给他做手术，而是挑选了自己的好朋友医生杰克（特伦斯?霍德华 饰），一个医疗变乱缠身的医生。
手术预备起头，克莱以为自己已被麻醉，令他发急的是自己的认识竟如此清楚，甚至能感遭到身材被剖开，只是身材完全不能转动。他听到了医生们的说话，居然听到了杰克与萨曼莎之间的诡计，悲伤欲绝的他想着自己将要离世了，却在这时辰看到了自己的母亲，母亲告诉他不能就此死去……
