青年佳耦蒂姆·格里森（蒂姆·洛克 Tim Rock 饰）和怀怀孕孕的妻子艾莉（凯琳·科尔曼 Kelen Coleman 饰）驱车前往异地探望祖父，他们的车子在穿越酷热荒凉的加州沙漠时抛锚。沿着唯一的线杆和电话线，佳耦二人来到一片玉米地。这里居住着一对不太大调的佳耦，男仆人科尔衰老阴霾，心中恍如藏着无穷的奥秘；女仆人海伦（Barbara Nedeljakova 饰）性感标致，动听的容貌下似乎散发着灭亡的气味。由因而星期天，救济车辆没法敏捷到达，格林森佳耦只得暂住于科尔的家中。夜晚，艾莉偶然在四周的仓库中发现被锁其中的少年，她意想到科尔能够正在实施某种罪行。她决议解救孩子，却不知自己早已成为死神的猎物……
