◎简 介
五年前，一系列模仿名画场景的连环杀人案颤动纽约城，警探斯坦（Willem Dafoe 饰）受命观察此案，但是却迟迟没有停顿，令其饱受言论压力。斯坦以少女克莉斯特（Samantha MacIvor 饰）作诱饵吸引凶手，虽然成功击毙怀疑犯艾迪，却也致使克莉斯特惨遭杀戮。
艾迪一案使斯坦获得警署嘉奖，顺遂升职，不外他的心中始终对遇害少女怀有惭愧，而且此案背后似乎还有隐情。心中承受庞大惭愧之情的斯坦沉溺酒精，越发孤僻。五年后，类似案件再次出现，凶手似乎成心以斯坦为方针发出赤裸裸的应战。斯坦不但要面临这个狡猾且智商极高的对手，更要面临久长以来困扰自己的心魔……
