◎简 介
1910年，“飞翔器”是阿谁时代风行一时的事物。但是正由于它刚刚诞生，一切还处于起步阶段。英国逐日邮报主编劳德·罗恩斯（罗伯特·莫利 Robert Morley饰）策划构造了一场从伦敦飞往巴黎的比赛。而此次比赛的目标，就是为了彰显英国种族的优越。假如一切都依照预期成长，不出所料的，他的半子理查德·梅斯（詹姆斯·福克斯 James Fox饰）将赢得角逐。比赛的消息一经发出，就获得了来自天下各地飞翔器爱好者的积极报名。但是这场本该是冒险者的角逐，却成为了一场争取帕特里夏·罗恩斯利（莎拉·米尔斯 Sarah Miles饰）豪情的比赛。 本片荣获1966年第38届奥斯卡金像奖最好原创剧本提名，1966年第23届金球奖电影类-音乐笑剧类最好影片提名及音乐笑剧类最好男配角提名。影片描写了分歧国家的飞翔员的本性：死板的德国人、凶险的法国人、狂妄的意大利人还有倒霉的日本人，而英国人和美国人则被刻画成相互帮助的好人。片中很多典范的桥段，被今后很多的笑剧片所争相效仿，向本片致敬。
