身高跨越两米、体重快要五百磅的沃特（The Big Show 饰）自幼发展在圣托马斯孤儿院里，业已35岁的他至今仍在孤儿院内生活，小男孩汉瑞是他最好的朋友。某天，一场变乱烧毁了孤儿院的厨房，依拍照关法令这里面临着被封闭的命运。为了让好友和其他孩子不至于无家可归，沃特决议承当起张罗资金修缮厨房的重任。与此同时，肉搏教练埃迪·沙利文也正被欠款所困扰。偶然机遇让他结识体形庞大的沃特，他决心将其练习成肉搏高手，然后前往新奥尔良加入专业专业夹杂肉搏冠军赛，并赢得奖金。为了配合的目标，这两个汉子以及孤儿院的女员工玛丽一同朝着新奥尔良进发……
