1970年月黑人剥削电影的女王帕姆·格里尔，继主演《科菲》和《骚狐狸》两部著名黑人剥削电影后，和Cult片导演威廉·哥德尔合作了纯洁的黑人剥削电影《希巴，宝贝》。在本片之前，格里尔出演的影片根基是预算很低且带有行动场景的影片，这让她感觉自己很廉价，因而本片，格里尔自己出资大头拍摄，而片中她的脚色也有所变化，不再是看上去自豪夸张的，更表现出她本人的魅力。
影片上映的1975年，是格里尔离别黑人剥削电影的年份，嘲讽的是，也是她离别奇迹顶峰期的年份，这年她主演了三部黑人剥削电影，除了本片外，还和阿瑟·马克思合作了《巴克敦》和《谍网女金刚》，《谍网女金刚》以后，她自动摆脱了黑人剥削电影的剥削。
