◎简 介
英国名导演理查德．莱斯特应邀赴好莱坞拍摄的第一部电影，改编自同名百老汇歌舞笑剧，并由原剧男配角胖子谐星泽罗．莫斯特尔饰演仆人翁——一位古罗马的仆从。他为了争取自在，先得帮仆人追求到一位高级妓女，因而使尽各类手段，偷诈拐骗无恶不作，全部罗马城的人几近都被他逼疯了。整部影片拍得相当热烈风趣，演员也有逗笑表演。可贵的是默片时代笑剧大师巴斯特．基顿也在片中客串一角，饰演女配角安妮特．安德烈的父亲。
