以《教父》等黑道典范片位蓝本的无厘头搞笑电影，描写不按牌理出牌的老教父文森佐，由于年龄已高，加上黑道势力重组，正面临挑选接棒人的压力，在３个儿子傍边到底应当挑选火爆的乔易，还是沙场战将安东尼继续衣钵呢，擅长拍摄这类影片的吉姆亚波拉汉思，此次抛开老同伴莱思力尼尔森，改用外形较为瘦削的老演员劳爱德饰演教父，选角得当，也能在对白上表达一向的插科讥笑手法，发挥出嘲讽结果。但整体而言未能离开同系列影片的俗套，有些笑话品味不高。
