◎简 介
士官威尔·蒙哥马利（本·福斯特 Ben Foster 饰）刚完成在伊拉克的驻守使命负伤返国，虽然出院后与女友凯莉（吉娜·马隆 Jena Malone 饰）度过了愉快的一天，二人终究分手。由于役期未满，威尔被派遣到了“伤亡告诉”办事中心，在上尉托尼·斯通（伍迪·哈里森 Woody Harrelson 饰）手下任职。在履行伤亡告诉使命的进程中，威尔与托尼碰到了各类状态，包括被情感冲动的支属殴打唾骂。在向奥利维娅·皮特森（萨曼莎·莫顿Samantha Morton 饰）转达她丈夫的死讯时，威尔担忧顽强表面下孤儿寡母的奥利维娅没法承受，事后屡次照顾帮助她母子，二人逐步发生好感。但托尼却对威尔处处违反“伤亡告诉行为守则”的做法不满，在一次抵触事后，二人终究说出了心里久长压制着的深切伤痛。
